Russian border guards detained two Crimean Tatars – Remzi Bekirov and Ruslan Suleymanov – near Kalanchak checkpoint on the side controlled by the occupational authorities, as Crimean Solidarity reported on Facebook.
According to the wife of Bekirov, at 9:10 am the members of Crimean Solidarity Remzi Bekirov and Ruslan Suleymanov were arrested on the Russian side of Kalanchak checkpoint.
It should be noted that in February 2017 both were detained near the house of Merlen Mustafayev. The Crimean Tatars were convicted and served an administrative arrest (five days) for the allegedly illegal rally.
In March 2017, Simferopol District Court imposed administrative arrest (three days) on Remzi Bekirov for alleged distribution of extremists materials in the social media.
Ruslan Suleymanov took part in a one-person rally supporting the arrested Crimean Tatars. He was detained Crimean Tatars. He was convicted in a form of an administrative fine ($155,8).
