At the 13th meeting of the Heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, the President of the State Petro Poroshenko stated that Russia was interfering the elections through social networks already, as the President’s Administration reports.
“Top IT-companies are already recording the creation of thousands, tens of thousands of fake accounts with Russian roots. Russia gets ready to a new powerful manipulative company – fake news, undermining the stability,” Poroshenko stated.
According to the President, Russia got fairly good at other countries, including that case at the Dutch referendum on ratification of the Agreement on the association and Brexit referendum.
“Moscow’s tentacles have penetrated deep into the social networks, they hold some media in the cyberspace. At the same time, the Kremlin is hiding its disruptive activity with democratic values and principles,” the President stressed.
Besides, Poroshenko urged to involve French, American and German experts to the development of a scheme to prevent interference in the elections.
