Russia has concentrated 37,500 troops, more than 480 tanks, 720 artillery systems and 673 air defense units in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This was stated by the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev, Ukrinform reports.
"In the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas, the Russian Federation continues to maintain groups of the 1st (Donetsk) and 2nd (Luhansk) army corps, which are operatively subordinated to the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army and integrated into the unified command system of the troops of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. These include 14 combat brigades / regiments and support units," Naev said.
The commander noted that in the temporarily occupied territories, the total grouping of the Russian occupation forces totals more than 37,000 people.
"Tanks - up to 481 units, armored combat vehicles - up to 914 units, artillery systems - up to 720 units; MLRS - up to 202 units, air defense systems - up to 673 units. In the Rostov region, there are formations and military units of the 8th Army of the Southern Military District," Naev said.
Meanwhile, Ukraine does not aim to achieve military parity with the enemy, which is exhausting for the economy, by means of "total militarization" of the state.
