Russia urges Kyiv to let the Russian consul visit the detained army serviceman Viktor Ageev; the Russian foreign ministry said this in the commentary released on the authority’s website.

‘By depriving Ageev of his right for consulate protection, Kyiv has been violating the 1993 Ukraine-Russia Consulate Convention and the Vienna Convention on Consulate Relations signed in 1963. We urge the Ukrainian Ministry to fully comply with the mentioned documents and let the consul visit Ageev,’ the document reads.

The Russian side also claimed that the authority ‘cares for their citizen’s fate’.
