Aleksandr Zharov, the Head of Roskomnadzor claimed that the service has blocked more than 650, 000 Amazon IP addresses because they allow circumventing of the blocking of Telegram Messenger in Russia as RT reported.
'The Amazon subnet on which Telegram switched came to our unloading. The third point of the court decision requires Roskomnadzor to not create the conditions for the technical access to the blocked messenger. We implement the court decision', he said.
Due to Amazon blocking, Viber messenger reported on Twitter on the problems with calls in Russia.
On April 6, Roskomnadzor filed the lawsuit on the blocking of Telegram in Russia. Earlier, the ultimatum put forward by Roskomnadzor to Telegram ended. Roskomnadzor threatened with the trial if Telegram would not pass the encryption keys to the FSB.
On April 13, the court in Moscow ruled to satisfy the lawsuit of Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media or Roskomnadzor and block Telegram in the territory of Russia.
The law 'On personal data' came into force in Russia on September 1, 2015. It obliges Russian and foreign companies to provide the storage of the personal data of the Russians at the territory of Russia.
