The protest rally against the decision to ban Telegram Messenger in Russia takes place in Moscow as Radio Liberty reported.

The event takes place at Sakharov Avenue where the authorities of Moscow agreed the holding of the rally with the participation of 5, 000 people.

According to the independent auditors, about 6, 800 people take part in the rally at the moment. The people hold the flags and posters in the support of Telegram and against Roskomnadzor.

Opposition politician Aleksey Navalny also participates in the protest rally.

As we reported Roskomnadzor blocked the number of Google IP-addresses. This is reported by experts in the field of cybersecurity, and the consequences of these actions are proved by users in social networks.

On April 13, the court in Moscow ruled to satisfy the lawsuit of Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media or Roskomnadzor and block Telegram in the territory of Russia.
