On July 4, President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit the Vatican to meet with Pope Francis. Ukraine will be the main topic for discussion, as Reuters reported.
“Ukraine, which remains a difficult issue in relations between the Vatican and Russia, is expected to be the main topic of discussions in the official papal library in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace,” the news agency reports.
Putin met with Pope Francis twice, last time – in 2015.
On July 5, the representatives of Ukrainian Catholic Church and leaders of Vatican will begin two-day meetings. They will discuss the issues Catholics have in Ukraine.
Putin’s meeting with Pontific was reported on the website of Holy See.
