“Our response is the same. The U.S. partners declared they wanted to leave the treaty, so we will leave as well. They declared they would make research and technological development, so we will do the same”, - said Putin.

Earlier, the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Moscow had the right to react to the suspending of the U.S. participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia. He stated that on February 2, the country would suspend participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia. Russia accused the U.S. of making a false excuse to leave the treaty, which they wanted to leave anyway so that they could develop new missiles.
