The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin launched the Balaklava and Taurida thermal power plants during his visit to Crimea. The press service of the Russian President reports this.
“Here, in Sevastopol, Balaklava and Taurida thermal power plants in Simferopol are in its full power. Those power stations have been working and supplying energy since October 2018. Today two new blocks will be launched. For one block for each of the stations. Their total power will grow in twice to 940 megawatts. This is the same as it used to be in previous years when Crimea received energy from the neighboring country, this is 90 percent of the current energy consumption of the entire Crimean peninsula”, - the report said.
Earlier, President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit occupied Crimea and Sevastopol on March 18 as the press service of Kremlin reported.
The meeting of Putin with the representatives of the “Crimean community” in Simferopol is planned as well as the participation in the festivities dedicated to the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the so-called “Crimean referendum” in 2014 and occupation of Crimea by Russia.
