Russian President Vladimir Putin explained the facilitated procedure of issuance of the Russian passports, as TASS news agency reported.

Putin said that Russia did not want to create a new problem for the Ukrainian authorities. The facilitation of this process is a question of a humanitarian nature.

According to Putin, they can not stand “situation when people who live in LDNR (so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, - ed.) are deprived of their civil rights.”

According to Russia’s leader, the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions cannot “move normal, they can not meet their basic needs and rights.”

Earlier, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin signed a decree which facilitates the procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of the occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk (ORDLO).

As it was reported, Russia wanted to facilitate the process of obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics after presidential elections in Ukraine. Putin’s decree was required for that.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs reported that people who get Russian passports will lose their Ukrainian citizenship.
