The causes of explosions in Saint Petersburg subway are unknown yet, all versions are considered — both domestic and terrorist act. This was reported by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has already discussed the situation with Federal Security Service (FSB) director, according to TASS.

"City authorities, as well as federal, if needed, will take all necessary steps to help bereaved families and those who were injured," Putin said.

"The causes are unknown, thus it is too early to say something. The investigation will show. Obviously, we are always considering all variants: domestic, and criminal, first of all of terrorist nature, — we’ll see. The investigation will soon give all answers for what happened in this tragedy," he noted.

As the agency reports referring to the source, the explosive devices were self-made and had low power.

As it was reported earlier, explosion occurred in Saint Petersburg metro. It was informed that 6 to 10 people became victims of the blast, dozens got injured.
