Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he considers current relations with Ukraine abnormal and unnatural. He announced this at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, RBC-Ukraine reports.

According to Putin, relations between Ukraine and Russia should be restored as soon as possible.

“The situation we are in today is completely abnormal and unnatural. Sooner or later, and the sooner the better, we will fully restore our relations with Ukraine,” Russian president stated.

He noted that Zelensky could take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia if he will get re-elected, and "will build a course to normalize relations."

As it was reported earlier, Spokesperson of the president of Ukraine Serhiy Nikoforov declared on September 1 that Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin any time.

And the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko stated that the preparations for a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin are proceeding "at the highest level."

The Kremlin later said that a meeting of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is unlikely to take place this year, as it must be well prepared.
