The Russian President Vladimir Putin states that he considers Sergei Skripal a scum and national traitor, and the scandal with the poisoning of the ex-GRU officer and his daughter is artificially blown, as Interfax reports.
“Speaking of Skripals, it’s just another spy scandal, which is artificially blown way out of proportion… I see that some of your colleagues are pushing the theory that Mr. Skripal is almost a human rights activist. He is just a spy. A traitor. There is such term – national traitor. And he is one of them,” the Russian President stated.
“Imagine that some person betrays his country. How do you treat him? Any of the present representatives of any country here? He is a scum – that’s it,” Putin stressed.
Putin expressed hope that the story about Skripals will soon be over.
“I think that this will end some day. The sooner, the better,” he said.
