The Evening Standard

Petr Verzilov, the Russian activist and the member of Pussy Riot band, suffers symptoms of poisoning; he loses sight and the ability to talk. DW wrote that on Thursday, referring to his teammate Veronika Nikulshina.

'He started complaining that he was losing his eyesight on Tuesday evening, after taking a two-hour nap at his home, said Nikulshina."First it was his eyesight, then his ability to talk, then to walk properly," Nikulshina told the Russian Meduza website', the news agency reported.

Verzilov and his teammates broke through the police cordon and on to the pitch during the final game of FIFA World Cup 2018; they were escorted out of the area immediately.

"When the ambulance arrived, he was just answering all of the questions by saying 'no, I haven't eaten anything, I haven't taken any substances'," according to Nikulshina. During the ride to the hospital, Verzilov reportedly started suffering convulsions. He was admitted to the ICU unit and later taken to the toxicology department. The doctors reportedly refused to tell Nikulshina whether or not he had been poisoned', DW wrote.

As we reported, Pussy Riot have been supporting Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov; for this and other manifestations of social activity, they were repeatedly detained by the police.
