The government of Paraguay negotiates with Russian private companies on the issue of production of Sputnik V, the Russian vaccine from coronavirus. RIA Novosti news agency reported that, citing a source in Paraguay's Healthcare Ministry.
"Currently, it's just talks... the meetings of Foreign Ministry representatives and private companies took place", the source said.
According to the interlocutor, it is too soon to call the date of supposed start of production process. Currently, Paraguay is ready to dispense and pack the drug, but the process of full passage of technologies will take at least four months.
Paraguay received batches of Sputnik V in February and April; the next batch is supposed to be delivered in May, said the interlocutor.
Earlier, Hungary claimed that Sputnik V was the most efficient and the safest vaccine from coronavirus. On the other hand, the Czech Republic refused from the Russian vaccine amidst the diplomatic scandal with Russia.
