Over 5000 Ukrainians are illegally kept in Russia

Russia has detained and arrested 225 Ukrainians in the first quarter of 2019

Around 5,100 Ukrainians are being kept in Russian prisons, as Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry responded to the request of the Ukrainian News.

“As of March 31, 2019 4,877 convicted Ukrainians are serving their sentences on the territory of the Russia Federation,” the establishment reports.

Besides, Russia has detained and arrested 225 Ukrainians in the first quarter of 2019.

All the prisoners are receiving consul’s assistance.

As it was reported, Ukraine demanded Russia to immediately release 113 Ukrainians who were illegally convicted and are kept in annexed Crimea.
