According to the Russian politician, the meeting with the German Chancellor was not "secret" as it was previously reported.
"There was a meeting, but it should not be called 'secret.' It was rather a private meeting and conversation with my family. I am very grateful to Chancellor Merkel for visiting me in the hospital," Navalny wrote.
As we reported earlier, on the morning of August 20, Alexei Navalny was returning to Moscow from Tomsk. During the flight, the politician became ill, because of which the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk. The Russian oppositionist was hospitalized in serious condition.
On August 21, doctors at the Omsk hospital allowed Navalny to be transported to Germany.
As of now, Navalny is officially discharged from the German clinic. Nevertheless, according to the doctors, it is too early to assess the potential long-term consequences of his severe poisoning.
