The U.S. mission in NATO participating in the Baltic Air Policing published a video of intercepting Russian fighter jets Su-30 on two occasions. The video was published by Dvids.
“Intercepts are a regular occurrence, and U.S. Air Force pilots routinely conduct them in a safe and professional manner,” the mission explained.
At 1:39 of the video, U.S. Air Force F-15s ntercept two Russian Navy SU-30 Flankers in international airspace near the Baltics, Nov. 23, 2017. The intercept was initiated because the Russian aircraft did not broadcast the appropriate codes required by air traffic control and had no flight plan on file.
At 2:01, there’s another interception of Russian fighter jets in the international airspace near the Baltic on Dec. 13, 2017, which started for the same reason.
It’s not the first time when Russian Air Force shows little respect for international rules. Two Russian military aircrafts Il-76 invaded the airspace of Lithuania on Sep.16, during Russian-Belarusian West-2017 military exercise.
