The expansion of NATO military infrastructure on the territory of Ukraine might become the red line for Russia. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said so at the investment forum session.

"You asked about Ukraine and where these red lines are? These are, first of all, about creating threats for us, which can emerge on this territory. Why would someone expand NATO to our borders? Who can answer that question? There is no answer, there's none. We had almost idillic image of out relations, especially in the mid-1990s. We were almost allies", Putin said.

According to him, in spite of Russia's warnings and requests, the NATO infrastructure approached its borders. He remembered the anti-rocket defense systems in Poland and Romania, as an example.

"They can set Tomahawk launch systems on the MK-41 launch pads that are deployed there. This poses threats to us. It's an obvious fact", Putin said.

He claimed Russia will be forced to do something like this if such action carries on, the Russian leader says.
