NATO is developing a plan to defend against a potential Russian attack, Reuters reports.

"NATO defense ministers are set to agree a new master plan on Thursday to defend against any potential Russian attack on multiple fronts," the message reads.

The defense strategy will focus on preparing for attacks in the Baltic and Black Sea regions, including nuclear weapons, hacking or network hazards.

Diplomats note that such a danger is inevitable as Russia develops advanced weapons systems and sends troops and equipment closer to the borders of allies.

Russia denies any military intent and claims that NATO's actions are destabilizing Europe itself.

According to diplomats, Russia poses a danger, because it is actively testing new combat robots and developing space technology based on artificial intelligence. In addition, Russia is testing nuclear hypersonic cruise missiles. In the spring, it presented about 100,000 troops on the border with Ukraine, the largest since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

As it was reported earlier, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has expresed the US position on the Russia-Ukraine conflict: "Let's be clear that Russia started this war and Russia is the obstacle to peaceful resolution [of the conflict]. And they can start by respecting Ukrainian sovereignty and its territorial integrity."
