President of France Emmanuel Macron and Russia's Vladimir Putin will discuss specific security issues in a video call that is scheduled for Friday, Reuters reports.
“There is a need for further progress on the crisis agenda, on Ukraine especially”, the Elysee stated.
France's Macron has called for Europe to reconsider its strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, saying that a policy of defiance towards Moscow in recent years had failed.
As we reported earlier, the USA is going to redeploy some of its forces from Germany to Poland. It was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump during a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
"We are going to be reducing our forces in Germany. Some will be coming home and some will be going to other places. Poland would be one of those other places," Trump stated.
Duda, in his turn, called it a “very reasonable decision” and stated that he had asked Trump not to withdraw US troops from Europe because Europe's security was very important to him.
