Press Secretary for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the situation with Siemens, according to RIA News.

“I’ll immediately say I will not comment on this, it’s the question to the companies cooperating, and in their line cooperation and discussion will continue,” he told.

Peskov also refused to comment on German media information claiming that Vladimir Putin personally assured German Chancellor Angela Merkel that Siemens turbines would not be delivered to Crimea.

“I will not comment on this,” the Press Secretary said.

According to the media, Matthias Schepp, the CEO of Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, believes that unsanctioned delivery of Siemens turbines to Crimea jeopardizes business relations between Russia and Germany.

“The trust relationship between German business and its Russian partners was seriously damaged, and for now it’s hard to evaluate the consequences of this,” Schepp said, commenting on the decision of Siemens to stop delivering power equipment to Russian state companies.

As it was reported earlier, Siemens decided to stop delivering power equipment to Russian state companies today.

Siemens claims their turbines were illicitly transported to Crimea without the company’s knowledge, thus violating the agreement.
