The Russian Federation government criticizes the new project of the US sanctions. Such actions will hinder economies of many countries, according to Press Secretary for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, as Polish radio reports.

”The Kremlin press secretary estimates that the US sanctions are ineffective, and the attempt to pressure Russia is counter-productive,” the media says.

In Peskov’s opinion, “the sanction rhetoric will harm other countries, the ones with which Russia, notwithstanding the negative tendencies, keeps up economic relations”.

The Kremlin’s press secretary refused to answer the journalists’ question as to what the official reaction of Moscow to the increase in sanctions will be.

As it was reported earlier, US Congress published a new bill on sanctions against Russia and Iran on July 12. The draft law includes the introduction of both individual and sectorial sanctions against the Russian Federation, and enshrines the already existing restrictions against Russia. It also deprives the US president of the right to cancel the sanctions without the approval from the Congress.
