The visits of Ukrainians to Belarus are “potentially dangerous,” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in the interview for a Polish news agency Rzeczpospolita.

The journalist raised a question about Ukraine’s relationships with Belarus, reminding about the detention of a Ukrainian journalist suspected of espionage in Belarus (Pavlo Sharoyko, - ed.) and detention and extradition of a Ukrainian blogger in Russia (Pavlo Gryb, -ed.).

“It is potentially dangerous for Ukrainians to stay in Belarus, and we are going to talk about this with Minsk. We understand that Russian power structures are acting in Belarus. Russia is in its security sector”.

At the same time, Klimkin stated that there are no major problems in the relationships between Minsk and Kyiv.

“And again, it is about Russia which is trying to destabilize the region of Central and Eastern Europe. It is trying to bring a split to the EU. I think that this is our mutual Ukrainian-Polish challenge, so we should cooperate,” Klimkin said.
