The International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to disqualify Aleksey Voyevoda, the Russian bobsledder for the life-term due to the violation of the anti-doping rules as the website of the IOC reported.
Voyevoda won two gold medals in the two-man and four-man competitions along with Alexander Zubkov in Sochi Olympics in 2014. Earlier both medals were confiscated from Russia due to the disqualification of Zubkov.
As we reported Russia was suspended from participation in 2018 Winter Olympics. Moreover, Russian athletes allowed to perform at the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang cannot put any national symbols or the word ‘Russia’ on their uniforms – for the whole event’s period.
