As we reported earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Steven Seagal a special representative on issues of Russian-American humanitarian ties. As representatives of the department explained, Seagal's task will be "the development of Russian-American relations in the humanitarian sphere, including interaction in the sphere of culture, art, public and youth exchanges."
American actor Steven Seagal received a Russian passport in November 2016. The passport was handed personally by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
