Human rights advocates to send Putin with "un-holiday presents"

Ukrainian human rights organizations are to hold an initiative called "Un-holiday presents for Putin", according to their event created on Facebook. The organizers are planning to send a big package of reports on cases of violation of human rights in Crimea. The initiative is scheduled for Dec.26 near the main building of Ukrposhta on Khreschatyk.

"On the New Year’s Eve, everyone is waiting for presents and greetings. But in Crimea, the families of the political prisoners, the relatives of the missing are waiting for the return of their parents, sons, and brothers. The initiative "Un-holiday presents for Putin" is a reminder to the top authorities of Russia of dreadful violations of human rights in the occupied Crimea," the activists wrote.

The initiative is organized by human rights organizations KrymSOS, Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Amnesty International Ukraine, Media initiative on Human rights, Informational centre on human rights, and Human Rights Watch.
