A helicopter crashed and sank in Russia's Kuile Lake in Kamchatka peninsula. The incident occurred on August 12, BBC wrote.

According to Russian media reports that cited local officials, "thirteen tourists, including a child, and three crew were on board when the Mi-8 crashed and sank in Kurile Lake on the Kamchatka Peninsula".

The sources in Emergencies Ministry claimed that the vehicle is now lying too deep for divers to operate - 137 meters below the water level. "The aircraft belonging to the Vityaz-Aero company crashed about 700 metres from the shore, the emergencies ministry said, adding that specialist deep-water equipment was expected to arrive shortly", reads the story.

The hellicopter carried 16 tourists from Moscow and St. Petersburg as they were on a sightseeing tour; Kamchatka is quite popular among Russians when it comes to domestic tourism.
