Georgian delegation opposes the renewal of Russia's voting rights in the PACE, imedinews reports.

Georgian side focuses attention on the threats that Georgia and Ukraine face from the Russian Federation.

It is worth noting that the Georgian delegation is headed by first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Tamar Chugoshvili. He has previously expressed his solidarity with Ukraine.

"We are sad that most countries have supported the restoration of Russia’s right to vote. We are not going to participate in any celebrations, we will only discuss problems that come from Russia to our country and Ukraine," Tamar Chugoshvili stated.

As we reported earlier, on June 26, the PACE profile committees considered the authority of the Russian delegation. As a result, it was recommended to confirm it without any sanctions, even to a minimum, which remained available after the Assembly resolution adopted on Monday.

It was also reported that a resolution adopted by the Council of Europe in the Parliamentary Assembly changes the sanctioning mechanism and allows Russia to return to work in the organization without restrictions on voting rights.

In early September, Russia paid PACE debt for 2017-2018.
