Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that in April 2014 the former U.S. State Secretary John Kerry offered Russia to carry out another referendum in annexed Crimea in compliance with the international law, as he said in an interview for RBK.
“It’s all clear. Everything happened as the Crimean people wanted. But you should conduct another referendum for order,” Lavrov cited Kerry.
He noted that Russia rejected this proposal.
“Why should we? If you understand everything, why should we make people vote again? I hope John won’t get offended. He also revealed some secret materials from our conversations,” Lavrov explained.
