Gas explosion in Novosibirsk, June 2020

An explosion occurred at the gas station in Novosibirsk, Russia. At least 28 people suffered injuries in the accident, Interfax reports. 

A fire took place at the gas station; gas storages blew up, and the gas carrier was destroyed. A ground-based gas facility was devastated as well. The fire made it to the neighboring garages, and the gas cylinders de-pressurized inside these garages.

Nine of the wounded people are now in serious condition; another 12 suffered injuries of medium gravity. The operative reports claimed no fatalities.

As of 22.30 Kyiv time, the firemen have taken out the flames.

The preliminary investigation found out that the reason for the explosion and the fire was that the gas carrier had no earthing connection with the stationary holding capacity.
