Four hundred conscripts have been enlisted from Sevastopol in the occupied Crimea for service in the Russian armed forces. According to this country’s defense ministry, ‘their health conditions are one of the best among conscripts enlisted across the entire Southern Military District’.

More than the half of the conscripts is going to serve with the Russian Navy, the authority reports.

The Ukrainian government and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights insist that the Kremlin violates the international norms by urging the residents of the occupied Crimea to serve in the Russian army.
