Volodymyr Viatrovych

Ukraine's far-right historian, who denies the fact of Ukraine's nationalists' involvement in Holocaust, tries to hide Ukraine's nationalists ethnic cleansing of the Polish population and whitewashes Ukraine's history, and passes laws restricting free speech. He has been Director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance since 25 March 2014. He is a Candidate of Sciences in historical sciences, director of the Center for Research of Liberation Movement in Lviv, and a member of the board of trustees of the "Prison on Łąckiego" Museum. From 2008 to 2010 he was director of the Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine. In 2010-2011 he visited the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University, working in particular with the archival documents of Mykola Lebed. Viatrovych is often accused of falsifying of Ukrainian archives. Viatrovych liaises with far-right and neo-Nazi organizations.
