The pro-Russian Czech president pats a four-day trip to Russia, including the visit of Sochi and the meeting with Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of Russia, and Mikhail Gorbachev, the former Soviet leader.
Also, he will attend the Russian-Czech Business Forum and deliver a speech there.
Milos Zeman is well-known for his support for Russia and Putin. He also doubted the role of the sanctions against Russia for the aggression towards Ukraine. Moreover, he defended Russia in its participation in Syria crises and blamed the US to illegally interfere in the inner crisis of Syria.
Earlier Czech President Milos Zeman claimed that he thinks that the annexation of Crimea by Russia is a solved case and offers to resolve an issue by means of benefits to Ukraine during his speech at PACE. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic called this statement cynical and absolutely unacceptable. Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin noted that it is necessary to react not at the statement of Czech President Milos Zeman towards Crimea but at the motivation of people who offered him to speak.
