It’s early to estimate the activity of the new President Volodymyr Zelensky, but the position on some issues reminds of the rhetoric of the former President Petro Poroshenko and his team.  Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of “Opposition Platform – For Life” stated that on air of the Pulse talk show at 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“Certainly, as a serious, concrete substantial person, I am far from a thought that it is necessary to give estimations to Mr. Zelensky for these 8 days and give an essential and sound estimation of his activity. This is univocal and it would be wrong. It would be wrong from my point of view, from the point of view of a man, whose political party joined the opposition on April 22, the day after the second round of presidential elections. We announced that we are in opposition to him. However, despite that I wouldn’t give large-scale and super objective estimates,” he said.

“After the inaugural speech, at the meeting with the heads of the U.S. delegation he said: yes, we are grateful for the support, thank you, carry on, strengthen sanctions against Russia. Though I’ve already heard about this method, which Zelensky’s team is going to follow. This is rhetoric of the late years of Mr. Poroshenko and his team,” Medvedchuk said.

Earlier, Viktor Medvedchuk commented on the possible impact of oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky on President Zelenksy. Medvedchuk believes that Kolomoysky is “doing everything in order not to be forgotten”.

“You know that it’s not a secret that Mr. Zelensky was tied with Mr. Kolomoysky. To what extent? I don’t know. But he used to work at the TV channel, owned by Kolomoysky,” Medvedchuk said.
