The visit of Ukraine's President to the White House could be right after the inauguration. However, it did not happen as the Office of the President did not heed the advice of Ukrainian Ambassador in the U.S. Valeriy Chalyi. He said that during the interview with the Voice of America.
"I will say this way: if they heard my pieces of advice in the first two weeks, the visit would happen. Right away, right away," he said.
However, the Ambassador did not tell about the essence of advices but he noted that the leadership of Ukraine is aware of them.
"There will be a short meeting (between presidents of Ukraine and the USA - ed.) during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. But it will not replace the full visit to the White House in Washington. And not only the meeting with the President, but also the visit to the Congress and meeting with Republicans and Democrats," the diplomatist said.
Chalyi added that at the initiative of the Presidential Office the Ukrainian Embassy in the USA do not organize Zelensky's visit to Washington.
