The Russian President Vladimir Putin

President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated that the steps from the side of Ukraine’s leader Vladimir Zelensky are needed for the settlement of Donbas Conflict, including the stop of the economic blockade of the occupied territories as the Russian mass media reported.

“It was also said that the blockade of Donbas would be stopped; it exists in violation of Minsk Agreements, which set out that the economic links of Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic should be restored to the whole economy of Ukraine…But nothing is done; the blockade is only strengthened. Nothing takes place. So the steps towards are the most simple. The political will is needed from the side of the Ukrainian leadership,” Putin said.

As we reported, the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas would discuss lifting the economic blockade from the separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions at the next session. According to the OSCE Special Representative, the lifting of the blockade could become the “great breakthrough”.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine commented on the idea of a possible lifting of the economic blockade from occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He said that trade with occupied Donbas without registration and taxes means the financing of terrorism.
