A meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who is in the Republic of Azerbaijan with an official visit, and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has begun in Baku. The Presidential Press Service reported this on its official Facebook page.
"The official ceremony of the meeting was held at the square near the residence of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Presidents inspected the formation of the honor guard company. The national anthems of Ukraine and Azerbaijan were played. Delegations will be chaired by Volodymyr Zelensky and Ilham Aliyev after the meeting ends. Bilateral documents will also be signed. The heads of state will publicize statements to the media," the press service reports.
The signing of interagency and inter-regional Ukrainian-Azerbaijani documents and meetings with the media are expected to take place on the results of the talks.
As we reported earlier, opposition blogger Elvin Isaev was deported from Ukraine to Azerbaijan. The website of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan informed about it.
It is noted that Isaev was deported for violation of Ukrainian migration legislation.
After arriving in Azerbaijan, Isaev was immediately arrested. On December 14, Elvin Isaev was placed in remand prison No. 1 of the Azerbaijani Prison Service.
