President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that he will not influence the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) but expects them to investigate the cases of top corrupt officials. Zelensky said this during an emergency meeting broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"Please, we want all the corrupt officials, all the top corrupt officials to answer in law, to receive the well-deserved sentences because the society will never forgive us that. And now we have a great chance," Zelensky said.
The president also stressed that there would be no influence on his part.
"I want it badly, I believe in Ukrainians, I am sure that you are the best prosecutors and detectives, some of the best experts," Zelensky added.
On October 28, the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky convened an emergency meeting with the leadership of anti-corruption bodies of NABU and the SAPO.
As we reported earlier, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) are not ready to hand the suspicion to Head of President’s Office Andriy Bohdan concerning his violations of the law during the work at Azarov’s Cabinet as Pravo na Vladu reported on Facebook citing SAPO Head Nazar Kholodnytsky.
