President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has withdrawn a draft bill on the salaries of officials from the Verkhovna Rada. The first deputy speaker of the parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk announced it. The online broadcast was provided by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
Stefanchuk said that Zelensky had sent a letter to the Ukrainian parliament to remove the draft bills № 3809 (on local elections - 112 International.) and № 3708, 3708-1 - on the salaries of officials from its agenda.
The relevant restriction was set on April 13, when the majority of deputies voted in favor of the bill № 3279-d. According to it, the maximum salary of officials and judges in the period from April to the end of lockdown could not exceed 47,230 hryvnias (1,752 dollars).
As we reported earlier, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to gather for an extraordinary session on Tuesday, July 14.
"Due to the demand of 158 lawmakers of Ukraine... to gather the extraordinary plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, for 3 p.m. July 14, 2020," the decree reads.
