President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with his American counterpart Joe Biden approximately in the last days of July or early August. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Serhiy Nykyforov, reports Suspilne.
"The meeting is planned for the last days of July, the first days of August, approximately in this range," Nykyforov said.
As the press secretary said, the date of the meeting was shifted, but he advised "not to make a tragedy out of this." At the same time, Nykyforov denied the information that the White House had postponed the meeting, allegedly because of the scandal with the change in the leadership of Naftogaz.
"This information is not true. It depends on logistic and protocol matters. They are actively preparing the meeting, agreeing to it, no one is giving ultimatums to anyone," he said.
In early July, Zelensky said that at the end of July he would hold direct talks with American leader Joe Biden.
However, information appeared in the media today that Washington is currently offering Kyiv to hold this visit at the end of August (but before the Independence Day of Ukraine), which causes extreme displeasure on the Ukrainian side.
