On July 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They will discuss the de-escalation of Donbas conflict and reforms in Ukraine. This was reported by German government press service.
Merkel will host Zelensky at the Federal Chancellery, where they will have a joint dinner on July 12 at 7 p.m. (8 p.m. in Kyiv).
"The meeting's topics will include bilateral relations, implementation of the Minsk agreements on the conflict settlement in eastern Ukraine, the process of Ukrainian reforms, economic issues and relations with Russia," German government's spokesman Steffen Seibert said.
As it was reported earlier, Zelensky announced that he would discuss Nord Stream-2 construction with the Chancellor.
To remind, on June 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the laying of the first line of Nord Stream-2 pipeline was completed. At the same time, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert said that it was crucial to Berlin to maintain Ukraine's status as a gas transit country.
