In five days President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will address the Verkhovna Rada with the traditional annual message. It was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, citing Zelensky's press secretary Yulia Mendel.
"On October 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the parliament with the traditional annual message in which he will announce the strategic directions of the country's development," Mendel said.
The spokeswoman said the event had been initially scheduled for April but was postponed due to the deteriorating pandemic situation.
As we reported earlier, the Ukrainian parliament canceled all plenary sessions slated for October due to the growing number of Covid-struck lawmakers and workers of its apparatus.
The official specified that the only day in October when MPs would have to show up for the plenary session would be October 20.
This is when lawmakers are supposed to consider the state budget for the next year.
Among the latest famous politicians who got sick with Covid-19 lately are ex-President Petro Poroshenko, candidate for Kyiv mayor office Boryslav Bereza, and MP of Servant of the People party Zhan Beleniuk.
