Ukraine is ready to initiate the establishment of the headquarters of the International Office for Countering Disinformation and Propaganda in Kyiv. This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky during a speech at the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, the President's Office reports.
The head of state noted that cataclysms had become commonplace, and the world quickly forgot the terrible news when a new information bomb exploded on the global agenda.
At the same time, the President stressed that our planet was not so big, and there was no longer such thing as the "war of others". Therefore, it is necessary to take into account the information threats of the world when misinformation and fake news can affect world markets, stock exchanges, and even the election process.
As we reported earlier, yesterday, on September 23, hackers from Rivne region (northern Ukraine) have spread fake information about the alleged emergency at Rivne nuclear power plant.
The culprits also stated that residents of Varash town were being evacuated due to the "radiation leak" at the plant.
