Zelensky signs decree on sanctions against certain Russian media

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has enforced the decree by the National Security and Defense Council from March 23, 2021. The document provides for sanctions blocking the activity of certain Russian media in Ukraine. Press department of the Office of the President reported that.

The decree takes effect on the day it was published, i.e. March 23.

According to a judiciary outlet, the new sanctions foresee blocking of such Russian media as Lenta.ru, Gazeta,ru and RT news agency, previously known as Russia Today. The others on the list include Svobodnaya Pressa, Utro.ru, Russian Expert, Golos Sevastopolya, Ukraina.ru, jpgazeta.ru, asd.news, pikinform.ru, dnronlane.su, i-don.ru, rumedia24.com, dnr24.su, rmnews.ru, howto-news.info, and novosti.icu.

The restrictions will last for three years.

Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions against 19 companies that use the Ukrainian subsoil.
