President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

On June 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of the Council for the development of higher education. This is stated on the president's website.

The task of the Council will be to improve the quality and content of higher education in Ukraine, to prepare proposals on improving the legislation on the financial autonomy of higher education institutions among foreign students.

"We must form clear goals and prepare competitive professionals - in accordance with the needs of the Ukrainian economy. We must determine which professions the market is oversaturated with and which, on the contrary, will be in great demand in the coming years. The development of a network of student dormitories is equally important. They should be modern, comfortable, and most importantly - in a sufficient amount for the needs of non-resident students,” the message reads.
