
On Tuesday, January 12, President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will hold bilateral negotiations. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian President.
It will be Sandu’s first visit to Ukraine as Moldova’s President. The parties are expected to sign a number of bilateral documents.
It is reported that the upcoming visit may cause some traffic restrictions.
"Temporary minor traffic restrictions may be imposed in Kyiv in connection with the official visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu to Ukraine," the State Security Department reported on its Facebook page.
As we reported earlier, Maia Sandu won the presidential elections in the second round. According to the Central Election Commission, she gained 57.75% of voters' support, while her opponent Igor Dodon received 42.25%.
The inauguration of Maia Sandu took place on December 24, 2020, at the Palace of the Republic.
The newly-elected President immediately called for an improvement of the relationship with Ukraine.
