Zelensky, Putin discuss prisoners swap and possible meeting in Normandy format

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The press office of the Ukrainian President reported that on its Facebook

"The sides emphasized that they were satisfied with results of the implementation of the agreements within the first step to the stabilization of a dialogue," says the message.

Zelensky and Putin also agreed to discuss the date of a meeting in the Normandy format in the near future. 

The state leaders told about the further steps in Donbas conflict settlement within the Minsk process as well.

As we reported, the exchange of captives "35 on 35" took place on September 7.

24 Ukrainian sailors and 11 political prisoners - already ex-political prisoners - captured by Russia over the past five years, returned to Ukraine. Faces of the released Ukrainian seamen, left activist Oleksandr Kolchenko, filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, journalist Roman Sushchenko, Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov, and the rest of former captives were seen in the crowd.
