The president-elect of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, promised to “create inconveniences” to the Verkhovna Rada for appointing the inauguration ceremony on Monday, May 20. He stated this in his video message, which he published on Facebook.

"Hello, friends! You already know that the inauguration of the president of Ukraine was appointed for May 20. You remember that we insisted it to be held on May 19, so that it would be a day off, so as not to create problems and traffic jams for Kiyivans" noted Zelensky.

Also, the newly elected president said that there will be a lot of foreign guests, so a big part of the capital's territory will be blocked.

“We are sorry. Please, forgive us, forgive the Verkhovna Rada. Rada created and made inconveniences for us, we, I promise, we will make inconveniences for them,” Zelensky emphasized.

We recall, in connection with the arrival of the numerous international delegations and guests at the inauguration, in the center of Kyiv the traffic would be temporarily restricted.

The inauguration of the newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled for 10:00 on May 20 in the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Earlier, political advisor to Zelensky, Dmytro Razumkov, said that maximum efforts would be made in order not to block the capital and, in particular, the Mariinsky Park.

Zelensky’s team prepared the project on the early dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine after the inauguration of the president, as Strana reported.

The publication got the text of the draft bill, which was sent by the “sources in Zelensky’s surrounding”.

According to the report, the final version of the bill has not been approved yet.

“There are discussions, but the bill exists. Perhaps, it will be further developed,” the source said.

The ground for dissolution is the withdrawal of the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" and Union “Self Help” from the coalition, and after less than 226 MPs left in the parliament.

According to the draft bill, Zelensky intends to early dissolve the Verkhovna Rada of the eights legislative term, to appoint early elections on June 14, 2019, to oblige the Cabinet of Ministers to provide funding of the early elections and to oblige the Central Commission of Ukraine to prepare and then hold the elections.

At the same time, the ideologue of Zelensky’s team, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated live on the 112 Ukraine TV channel that the team of the newly-elected president is preparing various scenarios for the development of events after the inauguration. Among them is the scenario of dissolution of the parliament.
