During his working visit to Odesa, President Volodymyr Zelensky transferred the Golden Star Order to the relatives of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine - teacher of higher mathematics and information disciplines at the Odesa College of Economics, Law and Hotel and Restaurant Business Anna Bortyuk and the commander of the state fire department - saving team of the State Emergency Situations Department in Odesa region, the ensign of the civil defense service Serhiy Shatokhin. January 25, Zelensky signed a decree on conferring the title of Hero of Ukraine with the awarding of the Golden Star Order to Anna Bortyuk and Serhiy Shatokhin (posthumous).

"They were awarded a high award for heroism and self-sacrifice shown during the rescue of people during a fire at the Odesa College of Economics, Law and the Hotel and Restaurant Business, which took place on December 4, 2019," the report said.

The president also presented state awards on the occasion of the Day of the Naval Forces of Ukraine. In particular:

- The Order of Courage of the III degree was awarded to Senior Midshipman Andrei Marchuk and foreman Volodymyr Sorochan;

- Captain Serhiy Volynsky, Captain Yaroslav Volyansky, Captain II Rank Oleksiy Koretsky and Lieutenant Roman Sukhina were awarded the Medal "For Military Service to Ukraine";

- the medal "Defender of the Fatherland" was awarded to foreman Andriy Vakulenko and captain I rank Roman Kodymsky.
